Looking for fall color in Washington can be a bit of a challenge. Having been blown away by the vibrance of West Virgina, Vermont and Smoky Mountain National Park, I've found it is much harder to find great autumn color in my home state. Eastern Washington seemed to be the best choice in this search, since the climate is more appropriate to yielding color than the ever wet Western side. Entiat Creek is a beautiful long creek surrounding by a variety of trees and shrubs. The red of the vine maple caught my eye and I was compelled to take this photograph.
