Growing up in Western Washington I was not accustomed to seeing rainbows with regularity. Living in Australia was a quite different experience. I was sitting on my deck watching a storm roll over the hills and drop it's sub-tropical payload. Noticing a break in the clouds during the downpour, I imagined that the sun could squeeze into this break and a rainbow would occur. I took my chances and rushed down to the beach. As I was on my way down, this rainbow illuminated the sky. It was and continues to be the most magnificent rainbow I have ever seen.
