Shooting 200 sunrises per year while living in Australia produced a small percentage of actual shooting. I am always looking for a spectacular set of circumstances. This was a day that I thought I wouldn't be shooting at all. The sunrise was bleak and I was about to pack it up when the pink appeared quickly and brilliantly. The long exposure gives a sense of motion and energy.
