Abandoned Beauty
You can see the care that went into this home — the decorative porch trim, the gabled front, the attention to detail that someone brought to a house miles from anywhere. Off to the right, additions extend outward, other structures built over the years as the needs of the place grew. Together they tell the story of a life here that lasted a long time.
We spent the day in this field, enjoying the quiet. It's still deeply remote — nothing but wheat and rolling hills in every direction, with only a soft breeze moving through. As evening came, the light settled into that warm lavender twilight and a full moon rose over the hills to the east. A beautifully still end to the day.
