Baylor Barn
This was another location I owe to the retired WSU history professor. He told me I'd love this barn, and he was right. Most barns out here are straightforward — four walls and a roof, built to work. But someone put real intent into this one. The shape is complex, with intersecting rooflines and that diamond-cut window in the gable, and the wood has aged into tones that reward the right light.
I spent time in the field just watching the sun move across the wheat, waiting for the moment it hit the face of the barn and brought out the full range of that weathered timber. The green wheat catches the light in waves across the foreground, the hills roll gently behind, and the barn sits right in the center of it all — settling slowly but still holding its ground.
