Morning Mirror
This location, just minutes from my home, has always been a favorite of mine. The Norfolk Island pines, standing tall and distinct, paired perfectly with the calm lagoon in the foreground and the distant ocean horizon to the east. I imagined capturing the scene under a vibrant sky, with the lagoon so still it would reflect everything like glass.
It took three weeks of waiting to get the conditions I envisioned. On this morning, I was lucky—the sky exploded in color, painting a curving, fiery swath across the horizon, while the lagoon lay perfectly calm, mirroring the scene with pristine clarity.
