Triumph

Triumph

We spotted this 1950s Triumph T10 the evening before while driving dirt roads through Eastern Washington, just keeping our eyes peeled. The car was sitting in the grass between a plowed field and an old homestead with its barn and you don't come across many of these, and the way it was positioned against that backdrop, we knew we had something. We camped nearby and came back at sunrise.

The morning sky delivered. I tilted the horizon deliberately to accentuate the curve of the hillside and pull the Triumph closer into the frame. The old car anchors the left side while the farmhouse and barn settle into the right, and between them that pink and purple sunrise stretches across the full width of the panoramic. Plowed earth on one side, tall grass on the other, and this little British car right in the middle of Palouse farm country — parked there for good, part of the landscape now.

Color Match

The images on this site are carefully color-managed, but no screen can fully replicate what these photographs look like as finished prints. The depth, color, and detail of a limited edition print on Hahnemühle Baryta Rag goes well beyond what any display can show.

About John

John Shephard grew up in Washington State surrounded by its landscapes and wild places. That connection to the land became the foundation of his work as a panoramic landscape photographer. He shoots exclusively on film, using panoramic cameras that capture a field of view close to what the human eye actually sees.
